I went to a Brain Gym workshop a few years ago and learned about developmental movement exercises. Paul Dennison Ph.D. is a researcher behind this method and it is very interesting. The simple morning exercises involve marching and  crossing mid-line with hands and legs, which activates both sides of the brain. Drinking water is also part of this. Any music can be used with this simple routine… Taylor Swift, etc.  It is very easy, yet effective.

Brain Gym has a lot of exercises that are too difficult for most people with intellectual disabilities, but the morning routine is GOLDEN.
